From the concept stage of this project, Capitol collaborated closely with the building owner and architect for a design and construct package for the base building refurbishment of the ground floor lobby and end of trip facilities at 520 Collins Street.
Having recently completed the building’s first prototype refurbishments on Levels 3 and 10, Capitol’s experience in base building refurbishments proved invaluable as the final outcome was highly praised by the builder owner.
One of the project’s most significant challenges was undertaking all works whilst maintaining a safe and operational environment for the public and building occupants. Comprehensive measures were adopted to manage foot traffic throughout the ground floor lobby, retail tenancies and vehicle traffic within the carpark adjacent to the End of Trip facilities. The finished product was a complete modernisation of the area in line with the design brief of dark colours, bold finishes, and clean lines throughout. The upgrade of feature finishes didn’t come without the inherit long supply lead times and excessive preparation works, however the project was delivered on-time, within budget, and to project brief.
